What to Send a WordPress Developer for a Fast Quote

A practical request template that helps a developer scope the work and flag access or integration dependencies.

A quote is more accurate when the request describes the problem and desired outcome. You do not need to write a technical specification. Start with the website URL, the service you need and the action you want visitors to take.

Include these details

  • Current site URL and platform, if known.
  • Pages, products or workflows in scope.
  • What is broken or what should improve.
  • Relevant screenshots and recent changes.
  • Target launch date and business priority.
  • Hosting, domain and integration dependencies.

For a store, include approximate product and variation counts, payment and shipping needs, and whether customer or order data must move. For a migration, name the current and target platforms. For a design, share brand assets and examples with a note about what you like.

Ask about the proposal

Confirm deliverables, excluded work, revision rounds, timing assumptions, third-party costs, access method and handover. Ask how payment milestones work. A written 50/50 arrangement should clarify what the deposit starts, how satisfaction is reviewed and when the final handover occurs.

Use a temporary account or secure credential-sharing method; do not send a password in an open form. A complete initial request helps the developer ask fewer follow-up questions and makes the estimate easier to compare.
